I purchased a voucher on 12 January 2016 for 2 PEOPLE: Gel Mani Classic Pedi at Caramel Cloudy and MADE AN APPOINTMENT with them nearly ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. I booked my appointment for 7th February 2016, 12PM and the merchant requested that I top up RM 15 when I redeem my voucher as it is a SURCHARGE for the public holidays (Chinese New Year EVE). I agreed and the merchant called me 3rd February 2016 at 4.05PM to confirm my appointment and reminded me to BE PUNCTUAL and NOT BE LATE. On 7th February 2016 (the day of my appointment itself) at 12.44AM the merchant called me but I was fast asleep as it was way after MIDNIGHT. The merchant then sent me a text message at 3.36AM stating that they will close their outlet early and will need to postpone all 6th January 2016 appointments (but my appointment is 7th February 2016) due to water shortage and cited a burst pipe which links to the shop. The text stated to call in after 1pm to reschedule appointments and for updates on the shop. I called I called several times but the merchant REFUSED TO PICK UP MY CALL. I then texted the merchant to reschedule my appointment to 11 February 2016 but there WASN'T ANY REPLY from the merchant. NO UPDATES or what so ever was received after the text message. I then checked their facebook page and to my horror, the merchant stated that they will be closed from 7 to 15 February 2016. They ANNOUNCED A CLOSURE on the 7th of February but had previously PROMISED ME a slot at 12PM on 7th February. They will only be resuming business on 16th February where my mum and I (the two person the voucher was intended for) has resumed work and will not be able to utilize the voucher. The merchant's claim of a burst pipe that LINKS to her shop is SUSPICIOUS as NO OTHER SHOPS NEARBY WERE CLOSED due to a water shortage on 7 February. Even restaurants remained open. Should there be a water shortage, the merchant should not have CANCELED ON CUSTOMERS without giving us an option. Since water is only required for the foot soak and callus removal which the merchant could have asked customers to return for the two procedures. It was the eve of Chinese New Year, the merchant agreed on the scheduled appointment and even requested for an RM 15 surcharge which I willingly obliged but CANCELED ON ME LAST MINUTE. It caused me severe INCONVENIENCE as all other nail parlours were fully booked! The merchant had NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO ANSWER MY CALLS and offer further explanations or even reply my text messages. I only got to know more updates by viewing their facebook page!
