I have been in Malaysia long enough to understand the 'Malaysia cannot'. I have experienced it myself today at the KLIA2 immigration. I worked for the US government and travel constantly out of Malaysia. I have a valid passport and visa. This immigration officer was unwilling to listen to my explanation regarding my visa on my old passport (but valid). He escorted out me of the line and treated like I was some kind of illegal immigrants and was so rude. Worst yet, when the officer from the US embassy to explain my situation to him, he just dismissed the call. He was too busy and refuse to speak to him. After the US embassy officer called on my behalf, the other officer was supposed to meet me at the gate and sort out the situation or at least give an explaination but never came. I called him twice and the final answer I got was he was at KLIA 1 not 2. He texted me that he was too busy at this time. I believed that he was untruthful and was not trying to help. I travelled with the same situation last week and there was no issue whatsoever. The different standards within the organization are obvious. Different officer have their own standards or level of professional. I would have been ok with the situation, if those officers were being professional and courteous enough to treat me with respect. Just because they wear uniform and have a batch doesn't mean that they can do whatever they want. With this kind of attitude toward foreigners who are guests to your country, it leaves a bad impression on Malaysia.
